Covid impact on Euro area: ECB bulletin

The ECB economic bulletin No. 4/2020 focusing on Covid-19 Crisis impact was published. The euro area economies have registered a decrease in the economic activity more evident in Italy, France and Spain. In the baseline scenario of projections, the real annual GDP is expected to fall by 8,7% in 2020, and to rebound by 5,2% in 2021 and 3,3% in 2022.

 

Anti-Covid measures are moving forward quickly, MEF explains

Analyses and statistics on tax returns transmitted in 2019: the ISA framework reported by MEF

The taxpayers subject to ISAs in 2018 were 3.189.124 (60% individuals), a slightly increasing number (+0,18%) compared to taxpayers subject to Sector Studies in 2017. The total declared income in 2018 amounted to 113,9 billion euro, considerably more (+24%) than the income calculated by Sector Studies in 2017. 51% of total taxpayers subject to ISA 2018 are in the North of Italy, 27% in the South and in the islands, while 21% in the Centre. The Department of Finance published these statistical data concerning ISAs, tax returns of self-employed transmitted by taxpayers in 2019 and related to fiscal year 2018.

The requests for loan moratoriums continue to be very numerous, more than 2,6 million for a total value of 277 billion and the requests for guarantees on new bank loans for MSMEs submitted to the Fondo di Garanzia for SMEs exceed 640.000. Through “Garanzia Italia” of Sace guarantees for a total amount of 718 million euro were granted on the basis of 75 requests received.

 

Tax revenues: update online

Tax and social contribution revenues in the first four months of 2020 have registered an overall decrease of 2,6% (-5.496 million euro) compared to the same period of 2019.
